Individual Case Support

IEVA provided targeted support for a young child diagnosed with brain cancer, coordinating access to treatment and raising community awareness of rare pediatric conditions.

Collaborative Workforce in Eye Care Provision at a Refugee Camp in Jordan

In November 2024, a volunteer-led medical outreach was conducted at a UNRWA refugee camp in Jordan, aiming to deliver essential eye care services to a population with limited access to healthcare. This initiative united healthcare professionals from diverse disciplines, each contributing their specialized skills to establish a comprehensive and integrated care model.

The collaborative approach not only addressed the immediate vision health needs of the refugee community but also served as a platform to enhance workforce capabilities. By fostering interdisciplinary teamwork, the project demonstrated the effectiveness of coordinated care delivery in challenging environments, ensuring sustainable improvements in eye health outcomes.

Responding to the Urgent Eye Care Needs of Refugees in Jordan

The first week of March 2025 underscored the critical need for dedicated eye care professionals in the region—those who are committed to genuinely caring for and serving vulnerable communities.

In response, IEVA partnered with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and Dr. Yazan Gammoh to mobilize expertise and networks for launching the largest humanitarian eye care campaign ever undertaken for refugees in Jordan.

This ambitious initiative aims to provide comprehensive vision screenings and eye health assessments to over one million refugees across approximately 20 camps throughout the country.

Despite significant challenges and limited resources, IEVA remains resolute in its mission to deliver high-quality eye care services and improve the vision health of those most in need.
